Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
 - 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
 - 1 tsp salt
 - 1 tbsp white sugar
 - 1 1/4 cups milk
 - 1 egg, beaten
 - 3 tbsp butter, melted
 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
 
Instructions
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the centre, and pour in the milk, egg, melted butter and vanilla. Mix together until fairly smooth (some lumps are OK).
 - Heat a lightly oiled or buttered griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, aiming for about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Brown on both sides, and serve hot.
 
Notes
- Using this recipe as a base, add a chopped fruit like apples, bananas, or blueberries while mixing together.
